Valuation of motor vehicles

Motor vehicle valuation is the determination of the market value of passenger carriers, cars, commercial vehicles, buses, motor homes/caravans, motorcycles, lorries, special designation automobiles and railway vehicles.

Valuation of motor vehicles may be required for:

  • Financial statements,
  • Assessment of losses incurred through the damage of property,
  • Claiming tax credits when purchasing a motor vehicle,
  • Tax purposes,
  • Pledging of property,
  • Insurance of property,
  • Selling or transfer of property.

The following documents must be submitted for the assessment of motor vehicles: vehicle registration certificate, MOT certificate. It is also necessary to indicate the purpose of the valuation. If a car needs an assessment after an accident, a declaration of an accident or a certificate issued by the police and a description of the circumstances of the accident must be submitted.
